Apple Stole The Show!

Well if you don't know, let me tell ya. Apple yesterday just seemed to be around for visual support to the announcement of the new Motorala iTunes phone, but it seems Apples own products stole the show.

With The Namo announcement it over shadowed the phone. With it's thin looks and color display, it seems like it's going to be a hot seller during xmas.
You can watch the Quicktime stream of the event here.

With the Namo, Apple posted it's iPod Updater 2005-09-06 on its Web site, which includes new iPod Software 1.0 for iPod nano
With iPod nano Software 1.0 you can:
- Listen to music and view album art
- Browse your photo collection or view photo slideshows with music
- Listen to audiobooks purchased from the iTunes Music Store or audible.com
- Listen to podcasts, downloadable radio-style shows delivered over the internet
- Store or back up files and other data, using iPod as an external disk
- Store and synchronize contact, calendar, and to-do list information from your computer
- Play games
- Store notes
- Add clocks for multiple time zones
- Use stopwatch as you work out to track your overall time and your lap time
- Lock your iPod Screen to prevent your iPod from being used by someone without your permission

Also as posted here yesterday, Apple Updated it's iTunes to version 5, which now does Lyrics.

Select a song in iTunes 5, choose File > Get Info and you’ll notice a new Lyrics tab in the resulting song information window. The other shoe is that the nano also provides a place for displaying lyrics. To access it, you move from one screen to the next by pressing the Select button in the currently playing song. The path to the Lyrics screen is Now Playing > Scrub > Album Artwork > Lyrics (press Select again to be taken to the Ratings screen). Which also updated their shuffle system where the frequency that iTunes playes a song is now adjustable.

Also later in the day yesterday Apple Updated it's QuickTime 7 to 7.0.2, which is currently available through Software update or from Version Tracker

According to its documentation, QuickTime 7.0.2 delivers numerous important bug fixes and compatibility enhancements. Apple says this update is highly recommended for all QuickTime 7 users. If your not on QT 7 yet and have a pro key you will have to buy a new one.

Apple Shares
Will Apple shares holders will love the Namo, after that announcement yesterday, Apple Computer Inc. (AAPL) shares hit an all-time high of $50.12 in early NASDAQ.
As of 9:43am trading today is at 49.88.
