Here's To The Crazy One's

Well this has been a year full of news for Apple. New iMac and iPods, TV shows on iTunes along with iPods being able to play video. New duel & quad core G5's, Front Row and of coarse the switch to Intel Processors. Shoot even RadioDailyNews.com has named Steve Jobs as the recipient of the "Radio Person of the Year" award as well as Steve getting Times Person of the Year 2005.

So is Steve Jobs still a "crazy one" that "thinks different"? I think so. While so many predict his next steps, his steps are already pre-planned. But do I say it's all because of Steve Jobs? No. He is a major player, but it takes a whole team of players to make this work.

So I wanna take this time to thank all of the people working at Apple for all their dedication to the Mac platform. All of those people in all sections of 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA. For Thinking Different and making this a great year for Apple. 2006 is right around the corner, and some people are doing some gussing, some are hoping, and others out right praying for certain things to happen with Apple hardware and software.

This year has brought Apple the respect and the stock price it deserves and I hope 2006 brings those geeks who favor the Windows platform to look upon the Mac and feel envious. I would like to see a Intel-based PowerMac be able to run the Mac OS and Linux on it, thanks to Intel's virtualization technology, which allows a computer to run multiple operating systems independently. I'm still not on the bandwagon for seeing windows on my Mac.

But I am at seeing Apple move in to the living room. ( my couch is more comfortable) The Front Row app we see on the iMacs I think is just the testing ground for a continuation of the "digital hub" Steve spoke about.

The next step is to bring the pieces together. Intel's new Viiv chip set is designed to make it easier to manage all your video, music, and photos. The upcoming Intel-based Macs will make it even easier to integrate Viiv into new home theater.

Of coarse the question has been brought up of the "Intel inside" sticker. Well the Economic Times has posted a article about Intel changing it's tag line:
"Motherboards don’t look, I’m changing! ‘Intel Inside’, the iconic logo of the world’s most dominant semiconductor manufacturing company, which has imprinted itself on the consciousness of consumers across the globe, is likely to undergo a transformation early in the new year, according to industry sources.

The new identity is expected to be unveiled in the first week of January, most likely with a new advertising campaign. The change will be announced worldwide simultaneously.[...]Some sources in Intel whom ET spoke to say that a change is in the offing, and internal documents are learnt to have already started using the new logo. "

Mac Rumors says these are pictures of the new logo's.

I would take these with a grain of salt.

What we do know for sure is Apple will bring some fresh and awesome new changes in 2006!

Because they are The crazy one's, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers.

The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently.

They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo.

You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.

because they change things.

They push the human race forward.

While some see them as the crazy ones, I see genius.
because the people crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
Thank You Apple!

BTW I got these pics of the Cooling system of a Quad processor PowerMac G5 that James DuBois posted for ARS.
Note the dual cooling pumps and massive heat exchanger. Even the cache has a huge heatsink

And lastly
Mac News World why in gods name would you guys republish old garbage articles 2 days in a row? The report from USA Today's Kevin Maney called "2006 Could Be the Year of Steve Jobs' Downfall" and Brett Arends from Boston Herald's story called "Apple Should Plant a Palm for Next Christmas". Total waste of peoples time.
Also for those guys out there playing World of Warcraft, stay out of the gay bar. (funny video)

I'll Talk to you all after New Years!
Come and sing along, I Love my mac
cuz its so dependable, so sensible so beautiful
